Ahoy Anchor

Playing along with Splitcoast Stampers Sketch #1065.

Since it is about to be Father's Day, I thought I would create a masculine card using a sea theme.

The strips of paper are cut from two different paper pads.  "Voyage" by Authentique and "By The Sea" by Carta Bella.  The anchor & ahoy are from a die set by Carta Bella.

Hummingbird Beauty

This is my take on Freshly Made Sketches #687.

I used stamp set Wishing You by Altenew.  I stamped and colored the flower and hummingbird with colored pencils.  I ended up fussy cutting the different sentiments after I stamped them and glued them in place since they were all separate sayings.  The background paper is from Paper Rose called Maya's Garden.

Love Birds

I made this card for my daughter and her husband who will be celebrating their 24th anniversary in June.  (Almost at 25 years).  The stamp set is by Aall & Create called Love Birds.  The paper that I used is by Echo Park from Anything Goes collection called Floating Feathers.  I also used the sketch by Splitcoast Stampers #1063.

Make That Basket!

Playing along today with Try A Sketch On Tuesday Challenge #670 and DTC Challenge #191.  I really wanted to make this a Father's Day Card, but it turned into a Birthday Card.

The basketballs are made from the die set by Spellbinders called "Sporting Goods Set".  The paper is from Authentique called "Basketball".  The sentiment is from a stamp set by Stampendous called "Sports Frame".

Happy 95th!

I am so blessed!  My mother will be celebrating her 95th birthday on the 28th of this month.  I can't wait to celebrate with her!

I used Freshly Made Sketches #686 to create this card for her.  The "Happy Birthday" circle was made from a die set called "Round of Happy" by Catherine Pooler.  Balloon Numbers die set by Honey Bee Stamps was used to make the 95

Full Bloom

I realize I am waiting until the last minute to take part in this sketch challenge, but I was determined to get it done before the deadline.

So this is Try A Sketch On Tuesday Challenge #669.  My card is kind of springy and flowery and the sentiment says it all.

And to all the Mothers out there, have a very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! 😊💕

Mother's Day Flower

It's a week before Mother's Day and I've been working hard on making Mother's Day cards for my mother, sister, daughter, friends, etc.  I thought that this sketch #684 by Freshly Made Sketches would be perfect for a Mother's Day card.

I used a die by Technique Tuesday called Cosmos Flower for the focal point.  I cut it out twice in two different colors and used the cut-out pieces to fill it in.  The sentiment is from a Waffle Flower stamp set called Essential Celebrations.

Oceans Of Joy

I decided to try working with this sketch by SplitcoastStampers.  Sketch SC1059 was landscape, which is not one of my favorite styles, but I could have turned it into a portrait style.  But I said, let me try this.  I liked the way it turned out.  The paper is from Echo Park called Fish are Friends.  I used a die cut set from Paper Rose called "Dolphin Dance."  The sentiment is from Seas The Day by Honey Bee Stamps.

Pelican on a Pier Post

 Happy Friday!

The stamp image on this card was one that I stamped and colored a while back.  I don't remember the maker of the stamp.  I thought it was time to use it and this sketch 682 was a perfect one for it.

The paper I used is by Authentique called "Voyage".  The sentiment is from a stamp set by Waffle Flower called "Birthday Wishes".

Shells and Fishes

Another Sunday night.  Trying to get this card finished before the night is over.  I went with fish and shells.  I could use this for a masculine card.
So this is my card for Freshly Made Sketches #681.

I wanted a sentiment with the word "Shell" in it.  This one is from Lawn Fawn called "How you Bean? Seashell Add-On".  The Clam Shell die is by KaiserCraft and the fish are part of a die set called "Fish Family" by Paper Rose.

Easter Flowers

Happy Sunday!

It's rainy here in Hartford, but I won't let it stop me from being creative. 😊
Here is my take on Freshly Made Sketches #680.

A Little Sunshine

Playing along with Splitcoaststampers today.  I had to search my stash for some octagon dies and I ended up finding some among the Spotlight Frames die set by Waffle Flower. This is Splitcoaststampers Sketch #1055.

Easter Duckie

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #679.
This image is a stamp by Whipper Snapper that I colored a while back called Eleanor's Easter.
I wanted an Easter image and I came across this in my stash.  I think he is pretty cute.

The paper I used is from Pinkfresh Studio & Honey Bee Stamps.

Wildflowers

Here is my take on Freshly Made Sketches #678.  For the cutout portion I used a die by Sizzix called "Splat".  And that is exactly what it looks like!  The flowers are made with dies by Picket Fence Studios called "Layering Flora: Tall Wildflowers".

I created the background with two different stencils: "Make A Splash" by Echo Park and "River Rock" by Honey Bee Stamps.

Colorful Easter Eggs

I came across this sketch challenge blog last month called Try A Sketch On Tuesday and this is my first time posting to it.  This was a very interesting sketch and I don't particularly like landscape cards. I had to think of something that would work for me.  I thought of flowers or feathers.  Doilies too came to mind.  But then I said to myself, Easter is coming.  How about Easter eggs!

So I used the die set by Honey Bee Stamps called "Build-An-Egg".  I colored them with some various Catherine Pooler inks.  Added the "Happy Easter" sentiment by Echo Park and a few enamel dots.
The background paper is "Hoppy Easter" by Violet Studio Designs.

Pretty Dandelion

Here's another sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that I will most likely be using quite a lot.  Sketch #677.  I used another paper pad that I've had for quite a while by Authentique called "Latest & Greatest".  The die is called Dandelion Stem by Memory Box.
I stamped and die cut a With Sympathy sentiment by Waffle Flower. I also added some Mercury Glass Stickles to the dandelion to make it stand out a little.  I like the way it came out. 😄

Split Flower Circles

It's after 2:00 A.M. on Saturday morning and I've been working on this card all day Friday.  I should be in bed, but I wanted to finish it and post it.  This is sketch #676 by Freshly Made Sketches.

The dies I used to make the circles are called "Funky Circle" by Catherine Pooler. I added some Nuvo Drops as an accent.  The paper that I used is from an old 6x6 paper pad called "Renew" by Authentique.

The sentiment that I used is from a Honey Bee Stamps set called "Birthday Wishes".  I stamped the sentiment then cut it out with the matching die.

I think the card turned out pretty good.  Now it's time for me to go to bed!

Happy Purr-thday

This little kitty was just so cute and innocent looking for Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge SSC355 Layered Up.  This is a stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs called "All Cats".  It features four different cats and I picked this one because it is holding a blank sign that can be stamped on with different sentiments that come with the stamp set. (Or any sentiment that will fit inside the sign for that matter).   I colored the cat with colored pencils and added stripes.  The background paper and panels are from Scrapbook.com.  The little squiggles on the side are from a die set by Echo Park called "Swirl Underlines".  Since the sentiment is being held by the cat's paws, I thought this would fit perfectly.

Floating Feathers

This Sketch #675 seemed like a simple sketch, but I had a hard time trying to figure out what color I wanted to use.

I ended up with teal because I cut these feathers out about a month ago and decided to go with them.  I used a "with sympathy" sentiment because the feathers looked so comforting.

Hanging Plants Birthday Card

Today was such a beautiful day.  The temperature was over 50 degrees.  I know that spring is right around the corner! 😀

I'm displaying a card that I made for my sister.  Her birthday is next month.   I used the "Hanging Planter" die by Sizzix to make the hanging plants.  The sentiment "This Is Your Day" came from an Altenew stamp set of the same name--This Is Your Day.

I think the card turned out pretty good.  Very colorful--like spring.

Wishing For Spring

On this very cold winter day, I decided to create a spring-like card for this sketch #674.  I was going to use a more flowery stamp or die but I decided to use this die by Impression Obsession called "Fanciful Flower".

Anyway, I like this sketch design and probably will be using it often.

Hearts of Love

 Hello everyone!

Yesterday it snowed here in Connecticut, so I spent the day working on a card for Freshly Made Sketches #672.   I was going to do banners, but then I thought, Valentine's Day is only a few days away--why not do hearts.

So this card is made with a die set by Honey Bee Stamps called Lovely Layers Heart Vine.  It's part of the Love Letters Collection.

It was a real challenge fitting the two pieces together but I finally got it.

Colorful Flowers for Spring

I've been working on this card all day Friday off and on, the last day of January.  Trying to find just the right paper, pick out the right dies and get the panels lined up just right.  I think it turned out pretty good.  This is Freshly Made Sketch #671.

I used three different border dies from the Heffy Doodle set called "On The Edge" to create the different panels.

The vase is from Simon Hurley's "Ceramic Vases" die set and the flowers are from Dress My Craft "Spring Flowers #2" die set.

I really love mushrooms and this FMS 670 sketch gave me an opportunity to use this stamp & die set from Altenew called Mushroom Greetings.

I also used the "Small Brick Wall" stencil from My Favorite Things for the background and the "Small Grass Border" die by Impression Obsession.  The mug in the background is a Christmas gift from my granddaughter, Keziah, who loves mushrooms too.  And today is her 16th birthday! 😊
